Mission Statement

The Abington Youth Basketball League, a non-profit association founded and run by community volunteers, is dedicated to the promotion of basketball. Our mission is to create and to provide for our players of all ages and skill levels the opportunities to play basketball for their enjoyment, for their improvement, and for the improvement of the game in an atmosphere in which our players support and respect each other. We encourage and expect our players and as well as their families to respect their opponents, coaches, and officials and to exhibit good sportsmanship and fair play. Our association is dependent upon the commitment and dedication of our many volunteers, and we deal with one another with courtesy and mutual respect.

Our league philosophy is to establish a comprehensive recreational basketball league that emphasizes fun, development, learning, leadership, sportsmanship and passion for the sport of basketball. We will strive to prepare players to compete at the highest levels of all competition by building on the appropriate foundations for development. Most importantly, we strive to provide a fun and positive experience for all our players, coaches and volunteers.
